See What God Has Done For Others

TESTIMONY:

God took me out Chapter 1: Borrowed Life. As a child, I heard testimonies from my parents and community about our miraculous survival during the insurgency in North Eastern Uganda. We lost our ancestral inheritance, but God replaced it with a heavenly inheritance that has guarded us despite our shortcomings. As the Bible says, "For the Lord will not forsake his people; he will not abandon his heritage" (Psalm 94:14). Growing up, I experienced God's protection firsthand. When I was about four years old, my mother worked with the nutrition unit in Ngora, serving camps in Kobuku. She was known for her generosity, often distributing soya milk to our neighbors. One day, while she was boiling milk, I was left alone, seated on a chair. As I tried to get down, my feet couldn't reach the ground, and I knocked over the saucepan, spilling boiling milk everywhere. By God's grace, I only suffered partial burns on my head. MyGod's mercy saved my life. We lived on borrowed life. My mother would often encounter rebels while distributing supplies to internally displaced persons, but they spared her life. My father shared stories of his own close calls, including being abducted and tied up by rebels, only to be released later. On another occasion, he narrowly escaped being killed by insurgents while traveling to Kampala. The late Bishop Ilukor's kindness in giving him a lift saved his life. Despite the challenges, God stood with us. My parents finished their education, and my father's scholarship and my mother's job, which she obtained through divine guidance, enabled them to provide for us. In 2003, when the LRA invaded Teso, I was a student at Teso College. God protected us from harm, even when gunshots rang out just a few miles from the school. We lost our biology teacher, and the experience was terrifying. However, God kept us alive, and sometimes, soldiers would warn us not to sleep on our beds at night. We thank God for raising a force that brought an end to the war in the Teso sub-region through the efforts of local sons and the national army. As Psalm 124:1-8 says, "If the Lord had not been on our side... they would have swallowed us alive... Blessed be the Lord, who has not given us as prey to their teeth!" God's presence and protection have been our rock throughout the turmoil. Chapter 2: The Raids In November 2012, my father's life was spared after a severe accident that left him with a fractured leg. God's protection and sustenance were evident throughout his painful recovery period. After his recovery in 2013, I faced a new challenge: I lost my job. My life became a struggle, and I often felt hopeless. Although I hadn't yet given my life to Christ, God's presence remained with me. During this time, my friends would invite me to parties that lasted late into the night. One fateful night, on Eid day, I found myself in a precarious situation. That night, I went out with my friend Edu and ended up at his residence in Kirombe. However, as we walked down the slope near the medical stores, we were ambushed by a group of boys. In the chaos, Edu was beaten with a wire lock, and his mouth required stitches. He was rushed to Mulago Hospital. I, on the other hand, fell to the ground in shock, but thankfully, I wasn't beaten. The attackers, however, stole my shoes and phone. After this incident, my sister Faith kindly gave me another phone of the same kind. Weeks passed, but I wasn't safe for long. One night, I was trailed and attacked again. This time, the perpetrators broke into my compound, sedated me with chloroform, and stole my clothes, phone, and academic documents. They scattered my documents near the pit latrine, but God intervened, preventing them from being destroyed or thrown into the latrine. The next day, I retrieved my documents, which were miraculously still intact. The fact that these thieves breached the security of our compound, which was home to senior cadet police officers, highlights the reality that human security measures are not foolproof. As Psalm 127:1-2 says, "Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain." The presence of the cadet officers, trained to maintain law and order, could not guarantee our security. This experience taught me that true security and protection come from God alone. Chapter 3: The Escape For the rest of 2013, I struggled to find employment. There were times when I had no food or money for rent. But God, in His goodness, provided for me. Before starting a new job, I visited a Catholic prophet who lived near Kabagala police post. After waiting in a long queue, she anointed me. The following week, I received a call to start working at a petrol station in Kajjansi. A kind stranger, who was a former petrol station manager, donated 10,000 UGX to me for transportation to my new job. God blessed me abundantly through that money. I was able to rent a new house in Ndejje Masitowa, pay for three months' rent, transport my belongings, and sustain myself and my family for two months. It was as if God had multiplied the money, just like Jesus multiplied the bread and fish to feed the thousands (Matthew 14:13-21). At the petrol station, I worked with a team, including Robert, Johnson, Hamza, Isaac, and Benson. We worked night and day shifts. However, after Isaac was admitted to YMCA for a course, he could no longer work the night shift. This change affected our shift rotation. Tragedy struck one day when a fatal accident occurred next to the petrol station. A lady was knocked dead at Kayembe stage. After fueling the car that carried her corpse, a strong wind blew, and our storage cabin fell. Only one of the three empty soda bottles inside was broken. I sensed that this was no ordinary event and shared my concerns with my colleagues, but they dismissed my thoughts. As it turned out, the change in our shift rotation, caused by Isaac's new schedule, had altered my work schedule. Instead of working at night, I was working during the day. On a fateful day, I arrived at work to discover that the petrol station had been attacked during the night. Two pump attendants survived, but the guard was killed. The trauma of that event was overwhelming, and I couldn't bear the memories of my fallen friend. We had shared dreams and aspirations, and his loss was devastating. May his soul rest in peace. I eventually quit my job, unable to cope with the pain and fear that lingered. As I reflect on that difficult period, I am reminded of Psalm 34:17-18, "The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit." God was indeed close to me during that time, and His presence sustained me through the darkness. Chapter 4: The Roadblock After resigning from my job at a petrol station in Kajjansi, I had a dream in which I was standing in front of students, and they were addressing me as "sir." Little did I know that God had a plan for me in South Sudan. This was the same season when Papa Ojangole hosted my cousin, Owalu, who came with his friends, Ecaat and Francis. Through them, God connected me to work in South Sudan. My entire life in South Sudan was filled with miraculous experiences. One notable instance was when I was transitioning from working at one university to another. I worked in three universities within a span of two years. However, we faced difficulties after the first university withdrew its operations from South Sudan for some time. Despite our financial struggles, a South Sudanese man graciously offered to pay for our visas for the entire duration of my stay in South Sudan. In 2016, at the beginning of the year, I had another dream. In this dream, we were seated in a car when suddenly, a massive flood came, but the car remained steady on the road. The floods were overwhelming, but they didn't sweep the car away. Miraculously, this dream foreshadowed the events that unfolded in the middle of 2016, when war broke out in Torit and Juba. By God's grace, we survived, despite the first bullet being shot approximately 100 meters from our residence. As Psalm 91:7 says, "A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you." God positioned people to help me during this challenging time. The accountant at the immigration office in Eastern Equatoria kindly paid for my visa for the entire duration of my stay in South Sudan. Abaka Richard became like an elder brother to me, while Ecaat, Francis, and our students were incredibly supportive, especially during the transition from one university to another. As Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." God stood with us, and most of our students graduated, securing good positions in the government and NGO sectors of South Sudan. When Uganda withdrew its citizens from South Sudan, I was among those the government couldn't assist, as we were in Torit, a war-torn zone. However, God kept us safe during that season. As we began our journey out of Torit to Nimule, along the Magwi road, we encountered rebels. The driver navigated the taxi slowly and steadily past them, and they didn't attack us. It was as if God had held the mouths of lions shut, just as He did for Daniel in the lion's den (Daniel 6:22). As we continued our journey, people in the taxi were left speechless. God protected us, just as I had seen in the dream, where the car navigated through the flood. When I finally arrived in Kampala, I discovered that God had also protected my house while I was away in South Sudan. Thieves had broken into all the houses in our compound, except ours. Our house had been passed over. Chapter 5: God Never Fails I spent the whole of 2017 without formal employment, but I chose to start 2018 on a positive note by attending the all-night sing at Watoto Church downtown Kampala on New Year's Eve. On January 2, 2018, I visited Pastor Bob at Watoto Church to request an opportunity to volunteer as a cleaner, and he graciously accepted my offer. I began working on January 3, and just five days later, I received a miraculous call to work in Palorinya refugee settlement. Despite lacking funds for transportation, God provided for my upkeep and rent. I worked in Palorinya for four months before being called for a training program at a microfinance company in Kampala. This was for a job I had applied for in October 2017. As I prepared to report for the training, I faced financial constraints, but God intervened, and I received the necessary funds for transportation and upkeep. As Psalm 37:25 says, "I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread." I was hired as a branch sales administrator, but God had bigger plans for me. After just one month, I was promoted to branch manager, a testament to God's favor and guidance in my life. In 2020, before the COVID-19 pandemic, my wife was due to deliver our baby. Despite financial difficulties, God provided for us on arrival to adjumani hospital the labour ward was overwhelmingly having a large number of women due to deliver due the high number of refugees and host community members I was worried about my wife, and American doctors miraculously arrived at the hospital to attend to my wife and left after she had delivered. As Isaiah 43:2-3 says, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze." After the pandemic, times were tough, and the company introduced a new policy that made it challenging for employees to earn a full salary. However, God remained faithful, and I continued to trust in His provision. As Philippians 4:19 says, "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." In May, I faced a challenging situation when I narrowly missed the sales target, and my salary was denied. However, I chose to forgive and trust in God's vengeance. As Romans 12:19 says, "Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay,' says the Lord." After being denied my salary, my supervisor, who had been laid off, encouraged me to apply for a job as a team leader. I applied online and was called for an interview in Kampala. Despite having no transport, God provided for me to travel. After the interview, I was offered the job on the same day, but I had to rush back to Adjumani to resign from my previous position. Before starting my new role, I had to travel back to Kampala for training but I had no money. The Holy Spirit directed me to a shop in Adjumani market, where some woman gave me money for transport. Although I had not yet received my resignation acceptance letter, I was given the job as a branch coordinator in Arua, a higher position than I had initially applied for. As I arrived in Arua, I faced another challenge. I had no money for upkeep and rent. I called back home, but they also had no money. I searched for a house without having the funds to pay rent and found one in Adalafu. The landlord Patrick surprisingly allowed me to stay before paying the money for rent. The next day, I struggled to find food, but God's provision was evident again. I went to some restaurant randomly, and although I had no money, the owner miraculously allowed me to eat for free until I received my salary. In October 2020, I was transferred to Koboko. Later, my supervisor was recalled to his previous company and the CEO and head of sales who sucked him, denied me salary, mistreated employees were fired and pronounced wanted for defrauding the company. Earlier, when they denied me my salary, I had told them through an email that their time had come to an end, but they took it as a joke and continued to mistreat employees. When I was in Koboko, one of the team leaders I supervised began to fight me seriously. I prayed, telling God that vengeance is His, and I chose to forgive and prayed through channel 44 of Kayanja ministries to God to take over the battle that very weekend, the team leader was sent a termination letter on Saturday night, a non-working day, In November 2021 I resigned because I always had a dream of being an employer so I went to the village to reorganize myself and God intervened again I got money to rent a house in Kampala and everything I needed in the house and a place to interface with my clients. Chapter 6: Framed In November 2022, we were assembled by God's divine making, in such a way that He was preparing a way for us to help each other in the trials that would follow. In that very month, sister Faith managed to get some money, and out of her good heart, she invited my brother Johnson, whom I follow, to come and renew his driving license. After he had done that, God paid her for her good heart and gave her money to buy a new car. That was the same season I also met Imolojong, a friend of sister Faith, who introduced us to a church called Mbazzi Church of Christ, where we used to fellowship in Kyebando. One day, after my wife had miscarriaged, we went to Mbazzi Church of Christ, seeking comfort and solace. Prophet Joseph prayed for us and prophesied that what we had lost had been replaced by God. God also led Wicky, who follows me, to Kampala to come and buy spare parts for the old car in the village. Earlier, in October 2022, my sister Faith was involved in a transaction in which she played the role of a lawyer to intermediate the gold deal transaction with one company used by the son of Ahab and Jezebel to rob people. So, she herself got entangled in this mess, knowing this was a genuine company, which turned out to be a bunch of vipers that specialized in scamming in the gold business, given the connections they have. So, they scammed successfully. After they scammed, the buyer, after realizing that the seller and refinery belonged to the son of Ahab and Jezebel, got frustrated and framed sister Faith, claiming that she had obtained money by false pretense. Even though he was severely guided and advised legally on the procedure to follow up on the fraudulent company of the son of Ahab and Jezebel, he still chose to frame sister Faith. It seemed I was being taken as ransom. December 18th, 2022, marked the beginning of a dramatic turn in my life. My family and I watched a powerful testimony on Top TV, of Pastor Ssenyonga, inspiring us to attend an overnight prayer meeting the subsequent Friday, following a dream I had before sister Faith was framed and arrested, in which I had dreamt that Sister Faith cooked chicken, but her friends threw a snake inside the saucepan and kept laughing besides the saucepan while I watched them, and I was really disturbed by that dream. But later on, it turned out that the actions of her friends led to her subsequent challenges. So, I also wanted us to break that misfortune through prayer and experience the same healing as we had seen on Top TV of Pastor Ssenyonga. Chapter 7: Released The next day 19th, Monday, I woke up feeling led by the he Holy Spirit to play gospel music. As the sun rose, a heavy downpour of rain began, lasting until 11:00 am. Suddenly, the enemy was seeking someone to attack, just as 1 Peter 5:8 warns, "Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." Before my arrest, two significant events occurred. Firstly, a man named Taidor appeared, giving me money for lunch and transportation home. However, I disobeyed God's prompting, choosing to continue working instead of leaving. As Isaiah 1:20 says, "If you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword." I resisted God's call, and soon after, I was arrested. After my arrest on our way to the police station, we narrowly survived a fatal accident on the way to the police station, then later to the prison and to my first appearance to court. Earlier, my sister Faith had been invited to a Congolese movie launching party, where she was the chief guest. She made a significant offer to support the movie project, although she didn't have the money with her, she told the movie star Prince to come to her office along with the movie director, who was also a pastor. Where he prophesied that I would face deep trouble and asked us to pray about it. He also told Faith that she would receive a large sum of money, which came to pass. Before sister Faith's arrest, I had a dream in which I was arrested by people dressed in military attire along with two other people where i clearly saw the landscape of Luzira Prison, where I was later incarcerated. In the dream, two others were released and that turned to be Wicky and Imolojong who also stood as surities together with me, but I was not left but taken down the slope. When sister Faith was framed and arrested, with Faith in God I told the police that no amount of money or connections would keep her in police cells. Indeed, when they tried to put her behind bars, the padlock refused to open even with the right keys, and they had to cut it open. Faith was the next day given a police bond miraculously, and I was asked to be the third surity along with Wicky and Imolojong. Knowing that she was innocent and their plans to destroy her she refused to be reporting for the police bond. When they could no longer see her, they decided to come and arrest me and took me to LDC court, where I was remanded to Luzira Prison. Despite the challenges, I met the Glory of God in prison, and He provided for me and took care of me. During my time in prison, I had a dream in which my wife was pregnant and would face difficulties but ultimately give birth to a baby boy. This dream came to pass, as on my first appearance in court, my wife revealed that she had conceived. It was a miraculous confirmation of God's promise. At the prison, I joined Antioch Pentecostal Church and fellowshipped with other believers. We experienced miraculous events, including a time when the Muslim prisoners stopped waking up for morning prayers after I tapped their mat with the Bible I had received from Antioch, the same bible would also make the complainant to contradict her statements everytime i raised it and also made the court one time to capture their own statements contrary to what the witnesses raised just like the power of God that made Babylonians to fail to communicate amongst themselves and I also saw in the dream when the judged pronounced that "you are released" and these were his words on 22nd of September 2023 when God took me out of my suffering. I also met three friends who doubted God's power to deliver me. Hakizimana from Burundi, Rashid and Katamba the assistant ward leader. Despite my assurances that God would release me, they doubted and even joked about my situation, even if Rashid and Katamba were released in April, they were rearrested to come and confirm my release in September 2023, Ironically, Hakizimana was arrested on November 19th, Aphron on October 19th and me 19th December. We became friends in prison and even the sleeping positions were according to the date of arrest, from the front of the ward Aphron, hakizimana and me, but Hakizimana's doubt almost cost him his freedom because literally he was supposed to go first followed by Aphron according to earthly standards bearing in mind the magnitude of their cases but heaven dictated I went first, followed by Aphron then Rashid and Hakizimana but for Katamba who mistreated us at the time I was released he had received a sentence for one the files which was six months pending other files. Another inmate, Saidi, believed in God's power to deliver him and who was co-accused with Hakizimana, When I told him and encouraged him to ask for a plea bargain, he took action and was released even if he was also framed and arrested innocently. During my time in prison, I witnessed many miraculous events. A man from Katakwi who used to cook for us who had five years left on his sentence, was given a pardon and released, another man from Alebtong on a case of wildlife trafficking was also miraculously released, when our released Pastor was handing over to the incoming pastor, Gospel artists visited the prison, and one of them, Betty, prophesied that many prisoners would be released. Indeed, the next day, all the padlocks at Block B refused to open. They had to cut the padlocks and through this I was reminded that just like the padlocks had been cut to force us in and that is the same way God made a way for us. after some time the president pardoned 200 prisoners, though I was not pardoned by the president, I was pardoned by the God of Israel. On my judgment day, I read Bible verses 1 Corinthians 10:13, which says, "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it." I also read Romans 8:1, which says, "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." Although I was not sentenced that day, the judge mentioned that my sentence could be as severe as three years in jail. I prayed to God, telling Him that I prayed to get my wife and family, and I can't be in prison for three years. I have to be released to look after my family. On the scheduled day for judgment, the suspect who was handcuffed with me was given three years of imprisonment instead. Also God revealed to me that the reason I was in prison was because of my stubbornness and unwillingness to testify which is against the word of God as in; Matthew 10:32-33 which says, "Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven." Luke 12:8-9 says, "I tell you, whoever publicly acknowledges me before others, the Son of Man will also acknowledge before the angels of God. But whoever disowns me before others will be disowned before the angels of God. So I decided to write this book to testify and thank God and encourage all to be grateful for all God is doing and done in our lives. Before I close with a prayer I also would like to point out that Before my release on a Tuesday, that week, on Sunday, my youngest brother Ben Jones was involved in a fatal accident. He suffered severe injuries, and a scan at a medical facility in Soroti City revealed intestinal obstruction and a fractured backbone. However, on sister Faith's advice, they transported him to Kibuli for treatment. We then gathered to pray for his recovery, alongside Toto Ojangole, Brendamonica, Miriam, and sister Faith. We prayed fervently. The next day, test results miraculously indicated that he was okay - no intestinal obstruction, and his backbone was fine. He was discharged after just three days. Little did I know that God had another surprise in store for me. After being released from prison, I had prayed to God, asking how I could return to my wife, Beatrice, empty-handed. God through my little brother Ben Jones answered my prayer by connecting me with some Israelites who took me shopping." Closing Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I come before you with a humble heart, thanking you for the miraculous deliverance and blessings you have bestowed upon me and my family. May this testimony be a beacon of hope and inspiration to all who read it, and may it bring glory to your name. May your power and mercy continue to surround us, and may we always be bold in our witness for you. In Jesus' mighty name, I pray. Amen.
