When prophets and servants of God speak

There is a proverb in my native language which goes: "Nangakambira akwa Khu mwenda kwentsofu".

It means: the one who is warned and does not listen, eventually falls upon the trail of the elephants (and inevitably gets crushed).

Over the years I have come to realize that when you are going through a season where it seems you always encounter "men of God" who even while preaching to many their message seem to always be speaking "direct to you" *that is a very important sign that God is trying to warn you or rather wake you up from sleep. It means you are almost falling upon an elephant's trail and like a loving father, he wants you to stay away! This is the reason why the scriptures say this:

_"Again and again the Lord, the God of their fathers, sent word to His people through His messengers because He had compassion on them and on His dwelling place. But they mocked the messengers of God, despising His words and scoffing at His prophets, until the wrath of the Lord against His people was stirred up beyond remedy."_ 2 Chronicles 36:15-16 BSB

It is important to note what the word of the Lord is showing:

  1. God will speak, not just once or even twice but again and again!
  2. Even when his words seem "harsh, it is really with compassion and love for you that he is sending warning messages.
  3. Those who mock and despise the messengers of God eventually find themselves in a place where they are BEYOND remedy - on the trail of the elephants where they get crushed and where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth and no one to help.

It is my prayer that if you feel you are in a season where somehow you are getting a lot of warning type of messages, please, humble your heart and do not despise the word - for this word is trying to protect you!

Prayer: Humble us Lord! Give us a heart of flesh and not a heart of stone! Help us not to grumble against your servants who you send to warn us, but let us say: "how beautiful are the feet of those who carry the good news." We bless you for this revelation to your people in this season. In your name Jesus I have prayed, amen!
